The Randolph Prairie Thunder got a stellar effort from pitcher Joaquin Lira, helping Randolph score a win over the visiting Quebec Fighting Quakers, 5-1. Lira picked up the win for Randolph, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 6-0. Jarrod Threats closed the door for Randolph, picking up his 12th save of the year.

The Fighting Quakers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Prairie Thunder going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old designated hitter Mike Weiss came to the plate. Weiss hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from Quebec hurler Richard Alter. It was Weiss's 3rd home run of the year.
