Bobcats Come Up Short at Spokane, 6-5
Walnut Park designated hitter Bob Gilmore had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Gilmore was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, even as Spokane beat the Bobcats, 6-5. Justin Brownlee finished the game for Spokane and earned his 5th save. The Selects now have a record of 17-13 with the win over Walnut Park.

The Selects got a big hit from left fielder John Thaxton. In the bottom of the sixth, Thaxton smacked a 2-run double off Walnut Park pitcher Tony Wooten. It was his 8th double of the season. Suddenly, the Selects were ahead, 6-5.

"Good team win," Thaxton said. "I love it when a plan comes together."
