Tommy Gillespie had a hand in Denver defeating Tucson by the score of 5-4. Gillespie went 2 for 3 at the plate, scoring 2 times and driving in 1 runs. The winning pitcher was Luis Diaz. He's now 2-1. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits for the Pilots. The Pilots improve their record to 13-17 with the win over Tucson.

Denver used the timely hitting of Kevin Presutto to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pilots on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Tucson manager Bill Escobar.
