The New Rochelle Purple Wave grabbed a win, 12-8, over the Dillonvale Indians at Black Diamonds Ballpark. New Rochelle center fielder Steve Nalbach went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Todd Lukac was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Pat Hiltner. The Indians, now 8-20, continue their inauspicious start.

New Rochelle needed the clutch hitting of Doug Stewart to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Purple Wave on top, 9-7. For the game, Stewart had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
