Day Delivers Walk-Off Win for Bruins
|
The Westwood Bruins spoiled a good performance by Denver third baseman Bill Brown, bumping off Denver, 7-5, at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Brown went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Pilots drop to 13-14 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2023 season.
Westwood got a game-changing hit from Dale Day. The right fielder blasted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a winner.
"It's what good teams do, find a way to win," said Day.
