Fighting Quakers 5-2 Winners Over Orono
|
The Quebec Fighting Quakers dealt the Orono Oaks a 5-2 loss at University of Maine Stadium. Mike Costello was the star on offense. He was 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was Kyle Connell. His record now stands at 1-0. The right-hander went 5.1 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits for the Fighting Quakers. Earning his 7th save for Quebec was Josh Harkey.
Quebec took a 4-0 lead on Costello's 4th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Bill Frazer in the top of the seventh, propelled Quebec to the win.
Quebec manager Jeff Gray said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
With the loss, Orono sinks to 17-9.
