The New Rochelle Purple Wave got a sterling performance from pitcher Tom Tchida, but the Denver Pilots still prevailed, 6-4. Tchida threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Denver pitcher Jarred Gangi earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Drew Yarussi suffered the loss. The loss drops New Rochelle to 14-11.

Ben Figueroa came through with a big-time hit for Denver. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I felt good up there," said Figueroa. "I saw the ball well."
