Chih Ren added some punch to the Ann Arbor offense, helping them outmuscle the Quebec Fighting Quakers, 8-7. In the game, Ren, who is tied for 9th in the StC in bases on balls with 10, went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win has Ann Arbor at 9-16.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Ann Arbor center fielder Scott Porter, facing Jim Unknown, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Z's the 8-7 win.

"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Porter. "Maybe this win will help."
