Hickory took on Spokane in front of a lively crowd.

Ricardo Martinez was locked in. The left-hander led the Hickory Crawdads to a 4-0 win against the Spokane Selects at Selects Ballpark. In 6.1 innings, Martinez surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed no runs.

William Corrado came through with a big-time hit for Hickory. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Ricardo did a good job keeping the game under control," said Hickory manager Ray Sanchez.

The win puts Hickory at 16-9.
