Crawdads Take Tight Tangle
The Walnut Park Bobcats got a superb performance from pitcher Heath Maughn, but the Hickory Crawdads still won the game, 6-5. Maughn threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. Donovan Mott, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The win gives Hickory a record of 13-12.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jason Seagle in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 23-year old left-handed pitcher Phil White to win the game for Hickory. The home crowd went nuts.

Seagle described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
