The Quebec Aces did just enough to sneak past the Hickory Crawdads, 3-2, at Crawdad Park. Quebec pitcher Nate Briceno, in particular, had a standout performance. The victory makes Quebec 14-10.

Quebec won the game in part because of Brian Gates. The shortstop ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Aces ahead, 3-1. For the game, Gates had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"It was a hard game, a hard night," said Hickory skipper Ray Sanchez.
