In a tight contest at Crawdad Park, the Hickory Crawdads edged the Ann Arbor Z's by the score of 7-6 in 11 innings. Hickory designated hitter Jerry Guerrero, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Hickory reliever Brian Aldridge snagged the win, upping his record to 3-0. Chris Runte shouldered the loss. Ann Arbor falls to 8-16.

The Crawdads got a clutch hit from shortstop Bill Dennis. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Crawdads.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Guerrero said in his postgame press conference.
