The Spokane Selects earned a close win over the Fremont Marshalls, thanks in part to Paul Mitchell. The Spokane left-hander, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2020 draft, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. In 8 innings, Mitchell surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Dennis Cambridge earned the save for Spokane, his 1st of the year.

Spokane used a timely hit from Bobby Butler to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Selects ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
