Bobcats Pull Off Thrilling 7-2 Win in Extras
The Walnut Park Bobcats defeated the Fremont Marshalls, 7-2, in 11 innings. Much of the credit belonged to right fielder Sam Frederick, who hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Bobcats. Walnut Park pitcher Lee Maher got the win, upping his record to 1-2. Aaron Ewing got the loss. The Marshalls fall to 8-12 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2022 season.

Steve Gunnells came through with a big-time hit for Walnut Park. The third baseman smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 6-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Took some scratching and clawing," said Gunnells. "But we got it done."
