Denver shortstop John Anderson was sensational. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Dillonvale beat the Pilots, 6-5. Bill Roderick picked up the win in relief. Tyler Hildebrand took the loss for Denver. The loss drops Denver to 6-13.

Had Hector Alvarez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Alvarez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Indians.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Alvarez said.
