The inspired effort of Walnut Park second baseman Fernando Espindola was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-4, to the Ann Arbor Z's. Espindola was 3 for 8 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The loss drops Walnut Park to 9-7.

The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the 19th when Paul Watson hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old left-handed pitcher David Fadely to win the game for Ann Arbor. The home crowd went wild.

In postgame comments, Watson said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
