The Quebec Aces got a sterling performance from pitcher Jim Wallace, but the Hickory Crawdads still prevailed, 5-4. Wallace threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. With the loss, Quebec sinks to 5-11.

Hickory used a clutch hit from Jose Valdez to snatch the win. The third baseman belted a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Crawdads ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"I had a good game," said Valdez. "Winning makes it even better."
