Bruins Prevail, 4-2, Over Quebec
|
The Westwood Bruins locked up a win at Belmont Park, knocking off the Quebec Aces, 4-2. On the mound for Westwood was right-hander Jay Sikora. He played a major role in the triumph. Mike Weatherby nailed down his 7th save. Early on, the Bruins, at 13-5, have excelled.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Paul McComas? The Westwood designated hitter had a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bruins on top, 3-2. For the game, McComas had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Westwood manager Hasan Raif.
