Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Palm Springs Heat and Spokane Selects.

Heat third baseman George Theodore put his stamp on his team's 7-3 win over the Spokane Selects. Theodore went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for Palm Springs in the contest. Palm Springs pitcher Mike Parker got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Rich Mack got the loss.

In the top of the first, Theodore pounced on a 2-0 fastball from Rich Mack and hit a solo home run. It put Palm Springs on top, 1-0.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Palm Springs manager Rogelio Sanchez.
