Indians Turn Back Purple Wave, 4-2
|
Dillonvale third baseman Billy Manuele contributed significantly to his team's 4-2 win over the New Rochelle Purple Wave. Manuele, who is tied for 8th in the StC in RBI with 8, went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Indians. The win belonged to Brandon Williams in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Tom Tchida took the loss for New Rochelle. Picking up the save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Stephen Keene.
Manuele made an early impact for Dillonvale when he stroked his 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came in the bottom of the second, put the Indians on top, 3-0.
Manuele attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
New Rochelle, now 4-11, continues its tough start.
