The Quebec Fighting Quakers rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Andy Swift to a win, beating the Hickory Crawdads, 3-2, at Toros Ballpark. Swift, now 1-2, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The loss drops Hickory to 8-7.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Fighting Quakers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when left fielder Matt Lee hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Ricardo Martinez and made the score 3-2, Fighting Quakers. Lee went 1 for 4.
