8-2 Win Gets Westwood to 6-6
Westwood Bruins starter John Blackman kept the Quebec Fighting Quakers hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-2 win. Westwood pitcher Mike Weatherby got the win. He's now 1-0. Kyle Connell was tagged with the loss. Now 5-7, the Fighting Quakers have not played well this season.

The Fighting Quakers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Bruins going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Jon Wagner came to the plate. Wagner hit a run-scoring double on a 1-2 fastball from Quebec hurler Chris McAuley. It was Wagner's 2nd double of the year.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Wagner told the Westwood Today.
