The Westwood Bruins and Tucson Raccoons delighted fans at Raccoons Ballpark.

With Luke Peiffer leading the charge, the Tucson Raccoons defeated the Westwood Bruins, 7-2. Peiffer was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Raccoons. Adam Arent went 6.2 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits. The left-hander struck out 6 and walked 5. With the win, he ups his record to 2-0 this season.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Peiffer hit a run-scoring double off Ryan Simpson. It propelled the Raccoons into the lead, 1-0.

"Luke was ready to go. Big day for him," said Tucson manager Bill Escobar.

The Bruins fall to 4-8 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2023 season.
