Pilots Rebuff Marshalls, 3-2

The Fremont Marshalls got a sterling performance from pitcher Ryan Butler, but the Denver Pilots still prevailed, 3-2. Butler threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Denver pitcher Tom Capasso got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Ryan Butler got the loss. Picking up his 6th save was 30-year old left-handed pitcher Billy Merner.
Denver used the hitting of Brendan Kennedy to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pilots on top, 3-2. For the game, Kennedy had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Kennedy attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
The Pilots, now 7-3, have been playing some good baseball.
