Prairie Thunder Pick Up 2-1 Win Over Hickory
|
The Hickory Crawdads wasted an inspired, 6-inning effort from starter Phil Harrison, falling 2-1 to the Randolph Prairie Thunder at Crawdad Park. Simon Scales earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record is now 2-0. Dan Toigo got credit for the save for Randolph. It was his 4th of the year.
The Prairie Thunder got a big at-bat from right fielder Kyle Wright. For the game, Wright was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Randolph a 2-0 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said Hickory manager Ray Sanchez. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The win gives Randolph a record of 8-4.
