Indians Send Spokane Home with 5-2 Loss
|
The Dillonvale Indians stymied the Spokane Selects, 5-2, at Black Diamonds Ballpark. Keith Cole had a good day at the plate. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 for Dillonvale. The win leaves Dillonvale with a record of 3-5.
The Selects had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Indians going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the top prospect Ken Castro came to the plate. Castro hit a run-scoring triple on a 1-0 changeup from Spokane hurler Aaron O'Brien. It was Castro's 1st triple of the year.
Dillonvale manager Markus Mensink called it "a good, solid win."
