The Hickory Crawdads picked up a win at Crawdad Park, taking down the Westwood Bruins, 4-1. Starting pitcher Ryan Warren was a big reason why. Warren, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The loss puts Westwood at 3-5.

The Crawdads got a big at-bat from catcher William Corrado. For the game, Corrado went 1-2 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Hickory a 2-0 lead.

Warren attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
