The Orono Oaks topped the Denver Pilots, 4-1, in Stripes Conference action at Pilots Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Orono pitcher and Auburn, Nebraska, native Brian Treadway. The winning pitcher was Treadway, now 2-0. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 2. Matt Williams collected his 4th save.

Kevin Morrow, the 24th overall pick in the 2016 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Morrow contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put Orono up, 1-0.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Orono skipper Mike Barriga.
