The Orono Oaks picked up a win at Pilots Ballpark, knocking off the Denver Pilots, 4-3. On the mound for Orono was left-hander D.J. Urbanek. He played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Urbanek, now 2-0. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 3. Matt Williams closed it out for his 3rd save.
Jerry Lupton came through with a big-time hit for Orono. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Lupton. "It sure beats the alternative."
