Hickory got a strong outing from Josh Riese as the Crawdads defeated the Orono Oaks, 4-2, at University of Maine Stadium. Antonio Mendoza earned the save for Hickory. Hickory now has a record of 6-3.
Hickory needed the clutch hitting of Charlie Paquin to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Crawdads on top, 4-1. For the game, Paquin had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Josh mixed and matched," said Hickory manager Ray Sanchez.
