Z's Absorb 5-2 Home Loss
|
The Ann Arbor Z's went down to defeat to Ricardo Rincon and his Randolph teammates. The final score was 5-2, in favor of the Prairie Thunder. Rincon yielded 2 runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-0. The loss drops Ann Arbor to 1-1.
Randolph used a clutch at-bat from Gabe Howard to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Prairie Thunder ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Ricardo gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Randolph skipper Michael Kelleher.
