Purple Wave Pull Out Late Win, 6-5
The New Rochelle Purple Wave downed the Quebec Aces, 6-5. The hitting star was second baseman Jonathan Raley. Raley went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Purple Wave. New Rochelle reliever Gabe Sprung picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Kyle Thompson absorbed the loss. The loss drops Quebec to 0-2.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 22-year old left fielder Danny Haessly had a real shot to win the game. Quebec pitcher Kyle Thompson was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Haessly hit a run-scoring single. The Purple Wave had a walk-off triumph.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Raley.
