Purple Wave Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
The 2022 season is off to a good start for the New Rochelle Purple Wave. The hometown Purple Wave knocked off the Denver Pilots, 4-2, at Ballpark of Lexington. New Rochelle pitcher Fred Taylor paced his team to the win. Mike Deadrick closed the door for New Rochelle, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Alex Natera, the New Rochelle second baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 3-1, Purple Wave. For the game, Natera was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.

In postgame comments to the New Rochelle Times, Natera said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
