Fighting Quakers Spoil Opening Day for Z's, Their Fans
Knights Ballpark was the site of the home opener for the Ann Arbor Z's. The contest featured a prime matchup between Edwin Rincones of the visiting Quebec Fighting Quakers and Jeremy Schroeter of the Z's. The final score was 8-2, the Fighting Quakers getting the win. Jeremy Schroeter turned in the best performance. Bryan Mitchell, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 4 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1.

Quebec designated hitter Juan Garza delivered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh. Overall, he went 3 for 5, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and knocked in 2.
