The Denver Pilots, behind a great outing from David Fry defeated the Dillonvale Indians, 3-0, at Pilots Ballpark. Fry yielded no runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-0. Jarred Gangi wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
Matt DeLaet went 1 for 3 for Denver. The 25-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Stephen Keene. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
"Nervous? No," said DeLaet. "It was my time to shine."
