Fans of the Quebec Fighting Quakers who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Quebec win over the visiting Denver Pilots, 5-3. Nick Dragon started for the home team against David Fry. Chris Marquis earned accolades for his performance.

Andres Vega dealt the Pilots a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Quebec leading 3-0, Vega hit a 3-1 sinker for a 2-run single.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Vega. "But I like how we're playing right now."
