Crawdads Get 6-2 Win Versus Palm Springs
|
The 2025 season did not get off to quite the start the Palm Springs Heat had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Hickory Crawdads at Heat Ballpark. The final score was 6-2. Reliever Dusty Nelson was the top performer for Hickory. Nelson got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 0 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs.
It could have been a different outcome for Hickory, had it not been for Pete Kincaid, the 29-year old center fielder . Kincaid contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Hickory up, 4-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Nelson told the Hickory Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
