Marshalls Get Clutch Win, 4-3
|
Fans watched the Fremont Marshalls and the Glendale Muskies fight to the finish.
The Fremont Marshalls did just enough to sneak past the Glendale Muskies, 4-3, at Hedgehogs Park. Fremont pitcher Adam Monteleone, in particular, had a standout performance. The win went to Nate Worley in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Brett Emma took the loss.
Had Charlie Harrison not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Harrison hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Marshalls.
"I was able to really locate my pitches tonight," said Monteleone.
The loss makes Glendale 56-88.
