Lubbock rode a decent outing from starter Emmanuel Barrios to victory over the Laredo Ghosts. The final score was 5-3. Juan Barron picked up the save for Lubbock, his 6th of the year. With the win, the Stampede improved to 69-73.

The Ghosts had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Stampede going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old catcher Cameron Polen came to the plate. Polen hit a 2-run home run on a 3-1 fastball from Laredo hurler Paul Reining. It was Polen's 4th home run of the year.

Polen called the triumph "a good team win."
