Ernie Hancock never let Lubbock get something going. The Nashville right-hander commanded his slider in pitching the Lasers to a 5-1 win. Jon Olivares closed it out for his 9th save. With the victory, the Lasers record now stands at 77-63.

Jeff Baker, who is tied for 7th in the SC in doubles with 24, aided the Nashville cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second. For the game, the shortstop was 1-4.

"I liked his command," said Nashville manager Kenny McElhaney. "Ernie was throwing strikes."
