The Laredo Ghosts beat the Portland Mad Ants, 8-4, at Mad Ants Ballpark. Laredo center fielder Chris McNicholas had an outstanding performance. He hit 2 home runs. John Brown collected his 2nd save. Laredo raised its record to 70-70 with the win.

The game was on the line with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning, but John Brown didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Portland trailing 6-4, Brown retired Matt Peters to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Brown, with a wink.
