The Portland Mad Ants picked up a win at Mad Ants Ballpark, taking down the Nashville Lasers, 4-1. Starting pitcher Matt Parsons was a big reason why. Gordie Clifford, who is tied for 5th in the SC in saves with 26, earned the save for Portland. Portland is now 70-69, while Nashville is 79-60.

The Mad Ants got an important contribution from left fielder Eric Alvarado, who in the bottom of the second hit a 1-0 fastball to center for a run-scoring double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Mad Ants ahead, 2-0.

In postgame comments to the Portland Herald, Alvarado said, "Our goal is to stack wins."
