Joilet Jesters starter Matt Schmid found his groove in his team's 6-3 win over the Chesapeake Tailgators. Kyle O'Hare nailed down his 12th save. Joilet is 73-68 and Chesapeake, with the loss, 60-81.

The Jesters got a big at-bat from designated hitter Michael Soria. For the game, Soria went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Joilet a 3-0 lead.

Joilet manager Felipe Arriaga called it "a good, solid win."
