Mad Ants Victors, 6-3, at Glendale

The Portland Mad Ants topped the Glendale Muskies, 6-3, in Stars Conference action at Field of the Muskies. The standout performance belonged to Portland pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Fernando Garcia. Chris Payton earned the save, his 10th, for the Mad Ants. Portland bumps their record to 81-56 with the win.
Portland used a well-timed hit by Mike Pelter to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mad Ants ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Pelter said his team "played with determination."
