The Laredo Ghosts topped the El Paso Chupacabras, 4-3, in Stars Conference action at Chupacabras Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Laredo pitcher and Johnson City, Tennessee, native Daniel Mitchell. Laredo is now 62-75. El Paso is 72-65.

Laredo used the timely hitting of Tyler Matzen to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Ghosts on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Mitchell.
