Hartford Matadors starter Kory Pullar hurled his team past the Chesapeake Tailgators, 4-2. The winner was Pullar. He threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Melvin Gamboa. Everton Jackson earned the save for Hartford, his 5th.

Oscar Juarez had a big run-scoring double for the Matadors in the top of the fifth inning. With Hartford leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a sinker from Melvin Gamboa, who is tied for 4th in the SC in innings pitched with 180.2, and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Matadors ahead, 3-1.

"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Pullar.

After today's action, Hartford sits at 69-69; Chesapeake slips to 58-80.
