Lasers Pull Out Late-Game Win, 1-0
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Nashville Lasers and the Glendale Muskies, 26-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Avila was the difference-maker. The Nashville right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win in 12 innings. Nashville, at 79-59, is 3 games up in the Stars Conference East Division.
The Lasers got a clutch hit from left fielder Steve Fites. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Lasers.
Nashville manager Kenny McElhaney called it "a pretty good win."
