Ghosts Foil Lasers, 3-1
|
The Laredo Ghosts got a marvelous performance from pitcher Ivan Esparza. The right-hander kept the Nashville offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-1 Laredo victory at Ghosts Ballpark. John Brown earned save number 2 this season. With this game in the books, Laredo is 59-75, Nashville 77-57.
Jake Way had a big run-scoring triple for the Ghosts in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Laredo leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Xavier Cooper and swatted a triple to left. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ghosts ahead, 2-0.
"Ivan was all business tonight," said Laredo manager Josh Miller.
