Marshals Lose to Matadors in Walk-Off
|
The Hartford Matadors faced a tough opponent in Baxter Springs pitcher Oscar Ayala, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Tacoma by a final score of 3-2. Ayala went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Hartford reliever T.J. Hoffarth picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tony Lantinga took the loss. The first-place Matadors have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
The decisive blow was delivered by George Kinder in the bottom of the third when he hit a 2-run double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Oscar Ayala to win the game for Hartford. The home crowd went nuts.
"This place was rocking at the end," Kinder said.
