Grimm Excels, But Mad Ants Win
Laredo got a terrific game from center fielder Doug Grimm. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Portland, 7-6. Grimm hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Brandon Smith, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-2. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 0.2 innings. The win puts Portland at 66-66 this season.

Alex Aime, who is tied for 8th in the SC with a .451 slugging percentage, came through for Portland with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth. The first baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 RBI.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Aime told the Portland Observer.
