Lubbock got a strong outing from Jonathan Glover as the Stampede defeated the Glendale Muskies, 5-1, at Field of the Muskies. The winning pitcher was Glover, now 6-11. He tossed 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. Paul Garcia earned the save, his 31st in 36 tries.
Lubbock used a well-timed hit by Aaron Foster to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Stampede ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"This game will humble you at times and you've got to buck up and deal with it," said Glendale manager Jermaine Allen.
The Muskies, at 71-59, have lost 7 in a row.
