Muskies Deal Stampede 5-4 Loss
|
The Glendale Muskies took Lubbock pitcher Mike Maschke's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Reagor Dykes Stadium. The final score had Glendale getting past the Stampede, 5-4. Maschke went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. Eric Willhite snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 1.2 innings. He's now 2-1 on the season. John Keefe notched his 17th save in 20 chances.
Justin Scott went 1 for 3 with a walk and was hit by a pitch for Glendale. The 23-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Dan Kleinman. It was his 46th RBI of the season.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Lubbock manager William Maysonet said, following the tough loss.
Glendale is in third place in the Stars Conference West Division with a record of 65-66.
