Marshals Send Montreal Home with 4-2 Loss
|
The Baxter Springs Marshals picked up a win at Marshals Ballpark, defeating the Montreal Royals, 4-2. Starting pitcher Mario Benavidez was an essential part of his team's success. Jeremy Reyner earned the save for Baxter Springs, his 12th. The loss makes Montreal 52-75.
Alberto Torres came through for Baxter Springs when he hit a 2-run triple in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a two-strike curveball to right-center field, staking his team to a 3-2 lead.
"Mario had good arm action, good stuff," said Baxter Springs manager Mitsuaki Sakaguchi.
