The Baxter Springs Marshals earned a close win over the Portland Mad Ants, thanks in part to Timothee Laziosi. The Baxter Springs right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the SC in wins with 9, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Baxter Springs reliever Glenn Yarrington picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Gordie Clifford was tagged with the loss. After today's action, Baxter Springs sits at 71-58; Portland slips to 67-62.

Mark Payne was the walk-off hero for Baxter Springs. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Marshals first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Both teams played hard," said Baxter Springs manager Justin Watts.
