Hartford used a superb performance from starting pitcher Ryan Barmore to down the Laredo Ghosts, 3-1. The last-place Ghosts now sit at 60-67.

The Matadors got an important contribution from shortstop Sean Heichel, who in the top of the second knocked a 2-1 changeup to right for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Matadors ahead, 2-0.

"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Hartford manager Jesse Heugly.
