Ballpark of Tacoma was the site of a competitive game between the Lubbock Stampede and Hartford Matadors.

The Lubbock Stampede got a superb performance from left fielder Justin Bellamy, but the Hartford Matadors still won the game, 5-3. Bellamy was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Ricky Hill earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 4-2.

The Matadors got a big hit from shortstop Josiah Smith. In the bottom of the sixth, Smith smacked a 2-run double off Lubbock pitcher Jake Plott. It was his 11th double of the season. Suddenly, the Matadors were ahead, 4-3.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Hartford manager Jesse Heugly. "It's usually not just one thing."

Lubbock has now lost 5 consecutive games.
