Hartford picked up a win at Ballpark of Tacoma, bumping off the El Paso Chupacabras, 5-3. Pitcher Fernando Garcia was a major reason the Matadors emerged victorious. The winner was Garcia. He threw 6.2 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Victor Figueroa. Hartford now sits at 80-44, while El Paso falls to 67-57.

The Matadors got a big hit from center fielder Oscar Juarez. In the bottom of the sixth, Juarez smacked a bases-clearing double off El Paso pitcher Victor Figueroa. It was his 11th double of the season. Suddenly, the Matadors were ahead, 4-3.

Juarez attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
