Royals Snatch Late-Game, 6-5 Win
The Montreal Royals did just enough to secure a victory over the Laredo Ghosts, 6-5, in 11 innings at Ghosts Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Jim Murphy. Vince Rice snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2 innings. He's now 2-2 on the season. The Royals improved their record to 84-41 with the win over Laredo.

Brian Hendrix came through with a big-time hit for Montreal. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Jim set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Montreal manager Bobby White.
